Thank you to all who attended our annual Summer Fete fundraiser! This year’s event was a heartwarming celebration filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit.
We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new supporters come together to make a difference. Our Summer Fete is more than just a day of festivities; it’s a crucial part of our mission to support Swanley Therapy Centre and the incredible work we do.
A special thank you to Cllr Laurence Ball, Sevenoaks District Chairman; Cllr Rita Wood, current Swanley Mayor, and former Swanley mayor Cllr Michael Horwood for their unwavering support and presence at the event. Also, a heartfelt thank you as ever to our patron Lady Barbara Ramsey and her husband Sir Vivian Ramsey for the generous use of their beautiful garden.
Background and Purpose
At Swanley Therapy Centre, our mission is to provide Oxygen Therapy and other therapies at a subsidised rate for those in the local community. Each year, our Summer Fete plays a vital role in raising the funds we need. The generosity and enthusiasm of our community ensure we can keep making a positive impact.
Event Highlights
This year’s fete was packed with attractions and activities for everyone to enjoy. From the classic games and delicious food to our competitions and live performances.
Our fete featured performances from local band, Recycled Jazz, and dance troupe, West Hill Morris. Their support added a special touch to the day, and we were grateful for their time and talent. We also had various stalls offering delicious hot dogs, cakes, and refreshments, with all proceeds going towards our fundraiser. A thank you to Foley’s Foods for their addition of an ice-cream van, providing sweet treats to keep everyone cool on the sunny day.
Community Involvement
The success of our Summer Fete wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our local community. From the tireless efforts of our volunteers to the generous contributions from local businesses, every bit of support was essential.
Local vendors, communities and supporters donated prizes, and our volunteers, many of whom are long-time supporters of our charity, worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Looking back at previous fundraisers, we’re reminded of the significant impact these events have had. Last year’s fete raised over £2,500 and we hope to better that this year with a target of £3,000. Keep an eye on our Summer Fete Enthuse page as donations continue rolling in.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s fete and hope to see even more of you there. Your participation, whether through attending, volunteering, or donating, makes all the difference.
